LITTLE LAMBS, BIG HOPE - JEDIDAH WANJIRU

Jedidah Wanjiru was born on 23rd February 2022 to Lilian Njeri. She is the third-born of three children and lives with her family in Mbauini, Kiambu County. Mbauini is a village near Maingi, just a few kilometers from the Little Lambs Green Pastures Center.

Jedidah and her siblings are being raised by their mother, Lilian. The details about their father are unclear, and Lilian has carried the responsibility of raising the children on her own.

The family lives in a small house on a small piece of land—about one-eighth of an acre—that Lilian was given by her grandmother. Providing for her children has been a constant struggle. Lilian depends on casual labor on neighboring farms, laundry work, and whatever she can grow on their small piece of land.

Because of these challenges, it has been very difficult for her to keep Jedidah’s older siblings in school. They are often forced to stay home because there is no money for school fees. Under these circumstances, sending Jedidah to school would have been almost impossible.

In 2025, while facing these struggles, Lilian heard people talking about Little Lambs and the help provided through the program. She decided to learn more. She visited Little Lambs Green Pastures, met with the staff, learned about the program, and requested that Jedidah be considered for admission.

Jedidah was placed on the list of potential Lambs and, after the assessment and admission process was completed, she joined the program in January 2026.

Jedidah is now a PP1 pupil. She is eager to learn and enjoys every minute of being a Lamb. She is a lovable little girl who brings joy to those around her.

For Jedidah, Little Lambs has made it possible to begin her education at a time when her family could not afford to send her to school. She now has the chance to learn, develop her gifts, and grow in a caring environment surrounded by people who believe in her future.
