Beatrice is raising three children who were left behind by her elder sister, who died some years ago. Another sister who also passed away left two children in her care, and her younger brother, who also died, left three children. Beatrice was not always a single mother. She was married until all these nieces and nephews came into her care. When her husband realized the magnitude of the responsibility of caring for all of them, he walked out on Beatrice and never returned.
With only her casual work to depend on, it has been a huge struggle for Beatrice to feed the children, keep them in school, and pay the rent for their small home.
As Adrian approached school-going age, Beatrice was certain that he would not be able to start school because she simply did not have the money to pay for his education.
One day, while working with another woman, Beatrice shared her situation. The woman told her about Little Lambs, which was located in a neighboring estate, and even volunteered to accompany Beatrice to the center.
